Calcutta Marble & White Shaker Style Kitchen
This 2,400 Square Foot Home in the Braeswood Subdivision had Unfortunately Flooded in 2016. We Completely Gutted the Home Down to the Studs and Rebuilt Everything in the Entire Home Back in 90 Days Start to Finish! Perhaps a Blessing in Disguise as this New Kitchen Possesses a Completely Cool, En Vogue Style that is Very Sought After. Here, because of the Unevenness in the Ceiling Joists, We Decided to Go with 36" Upper Wall Cabinets with a Double Stacked Crown Molding which Gave the Kitchen More of an Epic Appeal. Having the Additional Crown Molding Allowed Us to "Hide" Any Inconsistencies in How the Cabinets Finished Against the Existing Unevenly Framed Ceiling, Keeping All of Our Reveals Looking Perfect. Prefabricated Shaker Style Cabinetry Allowed Us to Cut Down the Timeline on the Kitchen Completion as Compared to the Length of Time Custom Cabinetry Would have Taken. The Combination of Updated Recessed Can Lighting, a Central String of Angled Spot Lights and New Under-Cabinet Lighting Gave the Homeowners the Versatility to Set the Tone of the Kitchen Based on their Desires. The Crème de la Top- Calcutta Marble Countertops were Finished with a Double Ogee Edge which Only Adds to the Class of this 21st Century Kitchen. A Stand Alone Range-Top Provides the Foundation for One of the Kitchen's Focal Points which is the Center Stainless Vent-hood Showcased in Front of the Classic Subway Backsplash Tile which Wraps Behind it Up to the Ceiling in an Added Burst of "Look at Me". The Bold Contrast Needed in Any Successful Design is Present with the Dark Tile Floor which Proves to be the Doppelganger of Wood, without Any of the Fear of Damaging it in the Future, Specially in a Flood-Prone Part of Our Great City. As Back Up to the Main Sink, We Installed a Secondary Vegetable Sink Next to a Large Baker's Peninsula Overseeing the Kitchen from the Perfect Vantage Point. The New Peninsula Contains a Beverage Center for Easy Access from the Living Areas of the Home and is Even Complete on the Reverse Side with Framed Molding which Stays True to the Era of the Home as Well as Adding Another Element of Intrigue. Directly Across from the Peninsula is the Resting Place of a Custom Built Matching Entertainment Unit with Stow Away Television with Plenty of Hidden Storage as well as Room for Chic Visible Displays. At the End of All of this, We can Only Hope that the Homeowners are Flooded with Nothing but Joy!
