Project Description
Are you sure you don’t want the wallpaper anymore? Yup! A stunning before & after, this kitchen was transformed from the dispart of the home back into the heart of the home. We removed the bulky, typical corner pantry which was tying up a lot of counter-space and removed the dining room door which afforded us the opportunity to extend the cabinetry. Everhart custom built all of the cabinetry out of strong oak, to satisfy the homeowner’s desire to feel part of the characteristics of the wood when looking at the kitchen. A smart application of appliances allowed for a private wine/ display center separate from the main counter-space as well as added storage beneath the range top. The homeowner’s decided on a brilliant backsplash which we wrapped up to the ceiling behind the charismatic vent hood. Both a conventional and convection wall stove are located at a convenient height for removing heavy baked dishes without the need of bending over. A custom built in refrigerator with full depth cabinet above stands by its sidekick, the large functional pantry and together they battle the storage fatigue that commonly plagues kitchens these days. Top it all off with perimeter up lighting at the wall cabinets and you have a brilliant, functional & clean looking kitchen that is the arch nemesis of its before photo. At the opposite end of the kitchen in the breakfast area, you’d find a custom everhart built breakfast bar with all of the classic charm glass front doors can offer. The bead-board backing draws your eye upward to notice the detail in the light rail & crown molding, where the consecutive lines and ridges bring attention to the custom antiqued finish & glazing. Let this be a lesson to all other kitchens out there, attempting to conquer & divide the home!
